Test report Bollé shifter glasses for cycling!

We have tested this Bollé Shifter solar bike with Phantom Vermillon Gun glass. Its protection index ranges from 1 to 3 according to the classification in force. It is therefore not, in this configuration, ultra-filtering glasses equipped with a filtration 4 (the Phantom Black Gun lens takes care of it).

The product tested is therefore suitable for days when maximum protection is not necessarily required; sessions during which a high level of detail is required during passages where contrasts are high: passage through a forest, light-dark, end of day with a drop in light intensity...

In these cases, there is nothing wrong with the quality of photochromic lenses, which adapt very quickly to any change. Ultra comfortable to wear, they offer superb quality of vision: details and panoramic field of view. The frame does not interfere, it enters very little in the field of vision, just a little in the lower parts, left and right. At the top, it goes unnoticed. The same applies to the area around the wings of the nose: you can't see it.

In use, what struck us is the precision of the details, the definition that one obtains with the Bollé Shifter. On steep, high-speed descents, with technical sections alternating with light and dark sections, Shifters are particularly reassuring. The face wrap is very good, the air flow doesn't pass.

The qualities of this solar bike dedicated to road cycling are not only so good. We greatly appreciated its hydrophobic treatment that lets water droplets slide off the glass. We had heavy rain in the spring with this solar panel. Bollé Shifterwe can testify that the vision remains clear thanks to this system. Same thing for the fog, the treatment of the lenses is very effective, it is assisted by discreet ventilation (simple slits above the nose and under the eyes) but effective.

The lens has also undergone an oleophobic treatment that limits the amount of dirt on the lenses. On this point, this system has its limits and we advise to prevent rather than cure: no fingers on the lenses, storage in the case... Even if globally this Shifter is rather rustic thanks to a real solidity.

Despite its imposing size, the Bollé Sh ifter fits well on the nose . The hydrophilic rubber is also found on the temples. The Bollé Sh ifter is designed to be paired with the Bollé Furo Mips helmet that we also tested. Beyond the cosmetic agreement, this helmet provides passages for the temples of the Bollé Shifter, in order to wear it on your head when you don't need it.

On long distances, there is no discomfort, no pain in the branches. The material used is both flexible and firm in its support, without injuring. The weight of 33 grams of the Bollé Shifter is quite minor.
