In 1995 the founder, Michael Odqvist, discovered the secret of the MayaSticks. He was fascinated by the pure brilliance of this softwood kindling. Not only was it a quick, easy and reliable way to start a fire, but the sticks were also all-natural, produced from waste, the stumps left by the pine trees felled by the people of Guatemala.
