HOW TO CHOOSE THE SIZE OF YOUR LOWE ALPINE BAG and HOW TO FIT IT?
The number of backpacks in the range can be very confusing. Many bags come in a variety of sizes including regular, large and ND and many have adjustable back systems.
This page contains information on the size of bag you should choose and the best way to achieve your ideal fit.
You can find your back length by measuring from your C7 vertebra (the bony protrusion from the back of your neck looking down) to the height of your iliac crest (the top of your hip bones, where you put your hands on your hips).
This measurement will give you an idea of the length of the back of the bag to choose.
Our AdaptiveFit structure means that Lowe Alpine bags adapt to the shape of your body, so don't worry if your back length isn't exactly 41.46 or 51 cm. We also have adjustable back systems and alternative back lengths on many bag styles in our ranges.
TYPES OF BELTS:
A well-fitting technical seat belt is essential to ensure that the weight of the load can be comfortably carried for long periods of time. You should be able to support a large percentage of the weight of your cargo through this belt. This will vary depending on the total weight of the bag, its cargo and what you are used to wearing.
A padded belt should fit over the iliac crest of the pelvic bone, which is the bony section that protrudes where you put your "hands on your hips".
For a perfect fit, the hip belt should encompass the bone (iliac crest) as this creates a solid base to support the weight. Wearing the bag too high, around the soft part of the waist, means that the bag moves when you walk and you may feel uncomfortable. Wearing the hip belt too low creates new discomfort and can hinder your natural gait.
