Beyond being a brand, AYAQ (which means "Snow on clothes" in Inuktitut) is an innovative concept in technical textile distribution and stands out according to 3 axes:
- Eco-designed clothes, all the textile is designed with fabrics made from recycled plastic.
- 100% Made in Europe (France, Italy and Portugal). All the materials used in the products are 100% European. The assembly is done in Portugal. The brand looks for the best materials and know-how.
- AYAQ is a brand of clothing for all outdoor sports, a key positioning adopted by the brand with the 3-layer strategy in order to be as versatile as possible and to be as close as possible to the needs of sportsmen and women, for all types of activity, in all weather conditions.
ITS HISTORY :
Vincent Defrasne, an Olympic biathlon champion, is launching a new challenge with the creation of the AYAQ brand in 2020, based on his sporting and professional experience, his passion and his entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2020, AYAQ is created in the heart of the Alps, in Renens-Lausanne (Switzerland) to be precise.
The launch was marked by the development of a first collection of technical clothing, dedicated to ski touring.
A deep desire to be in phase with the evolution of society, the economic world and the climate, the brand follows a strong and committed strategy of eco-responsibility with a production from natural and recycled materials located in Europe.
NO COMPROMISE:
AYAQ offers a resolutely high-performance collection, adapted to the demands of today's sportsmen and women. No compromise is made on the quality, durability or eco-design of each garment.
The materials are carefully selected and tested for the quality of the fibre (non-pilling, abrasion resistance, breathability, waterproofing, windproofing, etc.)
A TRUE RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
AYAQ garments are made from at least 95% natural or recycled fibres. In order to limit the carbon impact of transport, materials are sourced from Europe and manufactured exclusively in Europe. Suppliers are selected based on their own environmental commitment.
Each product is designed in depth in our regions.
The merino wool selected is among the best in the world.
All the processing (cleaning, combing, carding, spinning...) is done in Italy. The sheep are raised in the open air in farms that treat the animals with respect, and where mulesing is strictly prohibited. The wool provides exceptional comfort, with a 17 micron yarn that combines strength and softness.
The manufacturing workshop uses a water treatment and waste recovery process and is 100% Green Energy certified.

AYAQ is committed to environmental social business and is not pretending. From the outset, a minimum of 2% of profits are dedicated to social enterprises committed to nature and the environment.
