• Philip C. Ayers is a Brooklyn-based painter and illustrator whose work incorporates vibrant colors to depict mundane and idyllic images and environments. The playful approach to his creative practice is undoubtedly inspired by a youth spent skateboarding and surfing, two activities that to this day remain integral to his weekly routine and sanity while living in NYC. In addition to his artwork, Philip works as a Brand Manager at Pilgrim Surf + Supply and oversees an art space in Brooklyn called The Over Under Room. His design for the Volcom Featured Artist Series, while seemingly light-hearted, is a serious reminder of the threats caused by coastal development and incessant offshore drilling taking place in New York and around the world.
