In 1985, Ultimate Direction invented the hydration pack category. They created the first small bag to carry bottles, a few years later the first pack to carry a water bottle in your hand was born. Ultimate Direction and made many other innovations that define exactly what a hydration pack is today.

30 years later, they remain a leader in the trail running market, having created and popularized the "best" water carrying concept. They introduced the first ever women's specific line of hydration packs and have developed bags that take inspiration from the classics of the past to create the technical future with award winning packs like the Fastpack and Ultra Jacket.

The products are designed by athletes for athletes, and the Jenny Collection was designed by women for women. Some of the world's best runners have thought long and hard about what works best, and the result is by far the best for any athlete!

Social responsibility is a priority that we take very seriously in all aspects of our business, from manufacturing our products to supporting our communities. Our social responsibility policy, the Exxel Outdoors Code of Conduct, has guided us since 1995 to ensure ethical practices, improve working conditions and protect the rights of people working in the factories around the world where our products are manufactured.

Being socially responsible is a top priority, whether we are working with our suppliers or providing peace of mind to our employees, customers and the community. We are proud of our well-established social responsibility program, with the establishment of our Code of Conduct in 1995 and ongoing monitoring efforts over the past two decades. We demand dignity and ethical treatment from all employees in the factories that produce our products. The backbone of our program's effectiveness is based on strict but fair enforcement, an understanding of specific factory operations, and successful collaboration with supplier management to facilitate improvements to enhance the quality of life for workers. Following plant audits, any violation, regardless of severity, is documented in a corrective action plan. The plant must commit to implementing an action plan within a defined time frame. Follow-up is done to verify the implementation and sustainability of improvements. In addition, our internal audit team advises and trains plants, proposing solutions to outstanding issues. Our approach to developing safe and humane work environments goes beyond auditing and monitoring to training and education for continuous improvement. This creates a successful long-term relationship.

We accept factories certified by the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) program. We have found that this organization's monitoring criteria are aligned with our goals and that WRAP certified factories implement human rights practices. Certified factories must undergo periodic audits by independent auditors to maintain their WRAP status.
