Soon after, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe started a business producing jackets, trousers, sou'westers and waterproof oilcloth tarpaulins soaked in linseed oil - and the legend was born! For 140 years Helly Hansen has been manufacturing professional quality equipment to help people stay and feel alive.
