Designed with the help of well-known polar explorer Eric Larsen, the Polar Ranger™ -20F/-30C down bag is ready to take on the coldest temperatures on our planet. The lightest and most complete bag in the category, this bag, which has already received Backpacker magazine's editorial distinction, has been made even better. It uses the latest in interior partitioning technology and includes a highly compressible Nikwax Hydrophobic Down™ filling of 800 fill, free of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs). This technical down preserves its loft and warmth longer, even when faced with the extreme conditions of deep Antarctic expeditions. It absorbs 90% less moisture and dries three times faster than untreated down, which is a significant advantage on long trips where the bag must be dried regularly. The ultra-lightweight outer and inner fabrics are made of 100% recycled GRS-certified nylon to be more environmentally friendly. A special tunnel hood with magnetic closure traps heat while allowing moisture to escape from the liner, preserving the loft of the down. Long, oversized protective flaps stop drafts. Two side vents allow you to regulate the interior temperature and put your arms out without giving up the protection of the bag. Other features: insulated Toe-asis™ foot warmer section, SynergyLink™ connectors to attach the bag to the mattress, interior tote pocket, loops on the outside to attach a comforter or blanket for even more warmth, and an anti-lock YKK® zipper.
