The Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX® is a unique technical shoe for mountaineers, climbers and easy climbers looking for a performance-enhanced approach to climbing. It's based on the Salewa Switchfit system, an intelligent and simple system that lets you quickly adapt the fit from hiking to climbing, offering the same toe compression as a mountaineering boot. Simply tighten the laces to push the foot forward. When you've completed your ascent, return the laces to their original position to free up space in the toe area and increase walking comfort. For greater precision when climbing, the Wildfire Edge insole is also equipped with a lateral support plate under the side of the foot and big toe, offering greater rigidity under the toes and making it easier to change direction. The rest of the insole is flexible to ensure comfort and natural rolling movement of the foot. The 11 mm height is also ideal for fast approaches in the mountains or to guarantee a better grip when traversing. The lightweight, flexible mid-high upper is made from high-quality 1.6 mm suede, while Exa Shell technology combined with the 3F system envelops the foot for added stability when gripping with lateral support, ensuring suppleness and support. Inside, the GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining provides long-lasting waterproofing and breathability. So precipitation and groundwater stay outside, but perspiration easily escapes from the feet. For added protection against snow, scree and dirt, there's a stretch gaiter. The inner volume can also be custom-tailored thanks to the MFF+ footbed. Underfoot, the Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX® are equipped with the Pomoca Speed MTN Pro sole, which uses the Pomoca Butylic compound for improved grip and friction on rock in wet and dry conditions. The sole features a precision toe zone specially designed for mountaineering, a high-performance lateral support plate and spaced crampons for better traction on loose ground, such as mud and grass.
