After his 6th place in the 10 000 m French championships and his 18th place in the French cross-country championships this winter, our athlete Hugo Pelletier will be at the start of the Caen marathon this Sunday 16th June.
For his first attempt over the distance, the runner from EA Cergy-Pontoise Athletics will be trying to qualify for the French championships in the speciality which will take place in Metz next October.
"I had a good winter season, which was quite long and from which I came out quite tired, which was seen on my two 3,000 m at the interclubs, which were very average. I didn't do any specific preparation for this marathon, just a few long track sessions and a few long runs of 25-30 km which show that I'm in good shape. It's going to be a first for me over such a long distance, but it's a decisive race for the rest of my season. Mentally I'm ready, I know exactly what I have to do, I can' t wait to get going".
