SCARPA: a history of multidisciplinarity

For more than 80 years, SCARPA has been making the best outdoor shoes in the world. A pioneer in the field of hiking and mountaineering footwear, the brand has taken advantage of its unique know-how to gradually diversify and cover all mountain sports activities. Thus, SCARPA has quickly become a leader in the field of mountaineering, hiking, climbing, approach walking, trail-running and ski touring.

Founded in 1938 in the Dolomites, the Italian brand was one of the first to develop shoes with features dedicated to mountain activities. This innovative spirit has always been part of SCARPA's DNA: the brand has many firsts to its credit, such as being the first to design a Gore-Tex boot or the first to develop a plastic telemark boot.

Renowned for its manufacturing quality and high-performance products, SCARPA has become a major player in the outdoor world. Today, the company, still family-owned, produces more than one million pairs of shoes per year and 75% of the products are manufactured directly at the historic site in Asolo. All of the brand's climbing shoes are handmade in Italy. Some models require more than 130 operations, which explains this unique manufacturing quality.
