SCOTT: A SWISS REFERENCE

The technical innovations of Ed SCOTT, a talented engineer and skier from Sun Valley, Idaho, revolutionized the ski world. His invention of the first tapered aluminum ski pole immediately replaced the traditional use of bamboo and steel.

This revolutionary invention gave birth to the SCOTT brand, which quickly became a leader in technical products for the ski market. Ed SCOTT's initial vision of technical innovation has remained at the heart of the company's philosophy, and this has continued as the brand has evolved and expanded into new markets.

SCOTT introduced its first carbon mountain bike, which quickly became a legend thanks to numerous World Cup and Olympic victories and high media visibility. The company also collaborated with a research and development lab in Portland, Oregon, to create a full line of high-performance racing shoes for men and women.

Freeride/mountain skiing saw a new benchmark with the Crusair, an ultralight, stable and responsive ski that combines a carbon frame and wood core with air channels.

SCOTT also introduced the LCG (Lens Change Goggle) with the SCOTT sliding lens change system. This multi-award winning goggle allows users to quickly change lenses without touching the lens surface.

The SCOTT brand continues to innovate and push the limits of technology to offer high performance and quality equipment to winter sports enthusiasts.

RECOGNIZED RANGES IN THE OUTDOOR MARKET

Scott is a leader in the freeride ski market with the Scrapper which has become an essential model and has won several awards. Scott has also established a strong presence in the freerando market with the Superguide designed for perfectionists in the field.

Scott textile is everything you need from head to toe to spend a good day skiing and/or hiking in the warmth. Gore Tex 3 layer jacket, down jacket, first layer, gloves, hats...

Scott trail running is the revolution of these last years. The Kinabalu and Supertrac allow you to devour kilometers, to reach the summits of your favorite mountains and to perform on your favorite playground.

ONE GOAL: PRESERVING NATURE

Our corporate sustainability program, called RE-SOURCE BY SCOTT, encompasses both our strict material sustainability criteria and the products that carry that designation. We began by applying these criteria to our apparel lines, which allowed us to introduce our first products with the RE-SOURCE BY SCOTT logo. For the fall/winter 2020/2021 season, we have established specific criteria to ensure that our textile products meet this designation. These criteria require that the product contain at least 50% recycled content or be made entirely from certified renewable materials.

In addition, the use of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) to create durable water repellency is prohibited. These criteria allow us to set high standards for environmentally friendly products. PFCs, also known as perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds, are fluorinated substances commonly used in the textile and equipment industry for their durable water repellency (DWR) properties. They offer many benefits, such as protection against water, oil and dirt, as well as thermal and chemical stability, while maintaining the breathability of the fabric. However, PFCs are not easily degraded in nature. They accumulate in living organisms and spread through the food chain, causing serious health problems for animals and humans.

Among the more environmentally friendly materials we use, we have begun to incorporate organically derived plastics. Unlike conventional plastics made from fossil fuel sources, these plastics are made from biomass, or organic matter. When we use organically derived plastics, it is important to ensure that the biomass used is not from food sources, but rather from waste or non-food products. Some of our products already use organically sourced plastics, such as our sunglasses with partially organic frames.

We also use organic materials in our Cosmos and Celeste ski boots. All of these products use organic plastics made from castor oil. Castor oil is grown mainly in India, on semi-arid land that is not suitable for growing food. Thus, its use does not affect food production and does not contribute to deforestation.
