La Sportiva celebrates its 90th birthday on 23 May 2018

On May 23rd, the Valle di Fiemme company celebrates its ninetieth anniversary with a maxi-event open to the public at the Museum Park in Trento and in the city centre. Ninety years have passed since it was founded in 1928 by the shoemaker Narciso Delladio de Tesero (Val di Fiemme, Trento).

Nearly a century of history that has seen the small workshop called "La Calzoleria Sportiva" grow and evolve into the world brand, today leader in the climbing, ski mountaineering, trail and high mountain sector thanks to a production of footwear and technical clothing totally designed and developed in the mountains of Trento. Four generations of the Delladio Family, today represented by the CEO Lorenzo Delladio and his daughter Giulia, have carried on the tradition of the family business up to today's success: more than 300 employees, a turnover in constant growth that will exceed one hundred million euros in 2018 and a new building of 150,000 square meters that will be inaugurated by the end of the year and will soon lead to the potential doubling of the production of climbing and mountain boots.

On Wednesday, May 23rd at the Museum of Trento, where sales representatives from over 70 countries will meet at the Sales Meeting, La Sportiva will organize its 90th anniversary open to the whole population of Trento and more generally to all mountain lovers and its protagonists.

La Sportiva joins Trento for a celebration with a taste of history and legends with streetboulder events in the historic centre during the afternoon and aperitif dinners on the theme of the mountains in the Plan and Pasi bars: these will pay homage to the company for the occasion.

With flavours and colours that reflect the brand's codes.

- From 5pm in the Museum Park, music with DJs from Climbing Radio, drink & food at the food trucks and of course climbing with the athletes from La Sportiva. In the Albere Park, a 20-metre boulder will be set up for family climbing sessions and in the evening there will be a contest with the best climbers in the world.

- At 7 pm, meet exceptional guests; on stage alongside Lorenzo Delladio will be present: Simone Moro, Tamara Lunger and Adam Ondra who have made the history of mountaineering and climbing worldwide.

- At 9 pm, a new climbing contest with Kilian Fischhuber, Anna Stöhr, Angela Eiter, Stefano Ghisolfi, Adam Ondra, Jacopo Larcher, Mina Markovic, Tommy Caldwell and many others. Among the audience: Manolo, Anton Krupicka and other legends of yesterday and today.

- At 10:00 pm conclusion of the contest then Dj Set nocturne by Johnny Mox and "surprise event" on the walls of the Museum...

The event will also be broadcast live on Facebook and on the brand's social networkswith the hashtag TrentoLaSportiva: a definition that suits Trento, the city with the highest concentration of amateur sportsmen and women in Italy. And it's not over yet: the homage from La Sportivaa to its home town will continue throughout May with an exhibition on the theme of mountaineering at the Museum, anniversary initiatives at the Sportler outlets in Trento. And finally, the street boulder Block & Wall event scheduled for Saturday 26th April between the historic centre and the Museum Park.
