Test trail running MILLET Alpine Rush in Annecy - Light Rush trial September 13

Test trail running MILLET Alpine Rush: come discover the Light Rush

We invite you to test the Light Rush trail shoe from MILLET on September 13, 2018, at the small port of Annecy le Vieux. It's a simple and direct meeting: we gather, we put on our shoes, we go run on real trails, and we share over a drink. No commercial talk, just terrain and sensations. If you want to validate a pair for the season, this is the moment.

Why come? Because testing is understanding: grip, precision, hold on slopes, behavior in mud, comfort over long distances. We are a team of enthusiasts, we test, we will provide honest feedback. You will leave with expert advice, tips for your model, and if needed, recommendations for high-performance trail equipment to complete your gear, including a selection of high-performance trail equipment to go further.

Program and schedule

  • 6:00 PM: testing the Light Rush shoes
  • 6:30 PM: departure for a technical outing in Veyrier
  • 7:45 PM: friendly drink, feedback and advice

The Light Rush is designed for performance in trail running: ultra-light shoes, versatile grip, and resistance to deformation. We will discuss drop, sole, lateral stability, and behavior on ridges and accelerations. You will also be able to test how the shoe reacts on wet terrains and intense elevation changes, and discover why some high-performance trail shoes stand out on more technical profiles.

On site, we will present a selection of hiking and trail shoes for comparison if you want to compare cushioning, grip, and support. We will explain for what type of use each pair is tailored: short, long, technical, ultra outings. The goal: for you to know exactly which pair to choose based on your level and terrain.

Field test: what we look at

We evaluate lightness, responsiveness, and protection. We put the shoe on rocks, trails, and roots. We discuss grip and durability. It's also an opportunity to ask practical questions: how to choose a size, which sole to prefer, how to maintain your pair after muddy sessions.

For those who want to optimize their setup, we will discuss additional elements: how to choose a trail belt based on the volume to carry, how to adjust laces to avoid pressure points, and which socks to prefer to avoid blisters. If you want to choose a suitable trail belt, we will explain the balance between lightness and capacity.

Highlighted technical characteristics

  • Ultra lightness for dynamic accelerations
  • Multi-traction sole for grip on various terrains
  • Protective construction on the forefoot against debris

We will also give you tips for buying trail shoes without making mistakes: trying on at the end of the day, testing with your usual shoe, considering foot volume and the type of descent you practice. Buying the right pair is anticipating your future practices, not just the Sunday outing.

If you come in a group, we can organize comparative tests: testing side by side the sensations, noting the behavior in a steep ascent and then in acceleration. This situational test is valuable: nothing replaces a thirty-minute outing on a real section. We will also advise you on useful accessories; for example, for challenging courses, high-performance trail poles change the game on long and technical slopes.

Who is this event for?

For beginner trail runners who want to validate a first model, for experienced runners looking for a lightweight pair for competitions, and for enthusiasts who enjoy comparing gear and sharing experiences. If you are a competitor, we will discuss the weight/protection compromise. If you are more of a sporty hiker, we will talk about support and versatility.

We will also present solutions to accompany your pair of shoes: lightweight bags, protective accessories, and tips for maintaining your gear. Among these elements, you will discover choices designed for efficiency: how to achieve a durable and responsive setup without sacrificing comfort. We will highlight high-performance trail gear tested in the field.

Expert tips before the test

Arrive with your usual socks and preferably with a bit of fatigue in your legs to simulate a real outing. Avoid brand new shoes that have never been worn, unless you want to test their initial behavior. We will also explain how to maintain the soles and treat materials after a season. Simple gestures prolong the life of the shoe and ensure consistent performance.

If your goal is to optimize a complete setup, we will discuss how to select a jacket, a bag, and why sometimes it's better to invest in a quality pair rather than multiply purchases. Finding the right balance between cost and performance is key. We will show you where to find trail gear at the best price without compromising on quality.

Frequently asked questions and field feedback

How long does the test last? We planned for 45 minutes of running to feel the behavior in ascent and descent. We will answer all your technical questions and share feedback from runners who have already used the Light Rush on long outings. You will leave with concrete elements to compare and choose.

For runners looking for a pair for mixed terrains, we will explain how to identify a pair that combines grip and hold; for those aiming for speed, we will detail the compromises to accept. We will also present alternatives suitable for technical hikes: a selection of hiking and trail shoes for those who want support without too much weight.

We look forward to seeing you

Come in large numbers, come curious. We discuss gear, practice, and sensations. We help you make the most suitable choice for your practice, no bullshit. If you have specific questions about technologies or maintenance, bring them: we love dissecting gear. And if you want to leave equipped right after the test, we will guide you to find high-performance trail gear suited to your use and budget.

See you soon at the small port of Annecy le Vieux: we put on our shoes, we run, we share. The mountain is primarily a story of sensations and gear that follows. We pass on our experience so that every outing counts.
