Get help from another person for an accurate measurement. Wear the loaded backpack during your first fitting to ensure the lumbar belt rests well on the hips and the straps fit the shoulders without creating tension in the neck.

Ortovox women's gloves (Tour Glove W, Merino Fleece) have their own slightly different size chart. The column “Ortovox Women's Size” indicates the usual correspondence. Check the specific chart on the product sheet.
| Category | Sizing System | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Merino Beanies | One size or S/M & L/XL | Merino wool stretches. An S/M beanie fits most heads. |
| Neckwarmer | One size | Merino piece, one size, fits all body shapes. |
| Merino Socks | 35–38 / 39–41 / 42–44 / 45–47 | Take your usual shoe size. Merino wool stretches slightly. |
| Belts & Suspenders | S / M / L / XL (depending on waist measurement) | Refer to the men's or women's clothing chart for the “size” column. |
| DVA / Safety Equipment | One size — no body sizing | The Diract / Diract Voice DVA is worn in a harness pocket. Check the compatibility of the harness with the chosen DVA. |
Ortovox follows classic European standards. Pure merino wool garments tend to be slightly more fitted than synthetic pieces. For technical pieces (hardshell, softshell), the cuts include sufficient mobility allowance for layering. If in doubt, take the larger size.
Yes, but at a maximum of 30°C on a delicate or wool cycle. Use a special wool detergent (without softener). Do not twist — dry flat. Avoid the tumble dryer. A slight shrinkage is possible if these instructions are not followed, hence the interest in taking a size up if in doubt.
The S version has a shortened carrying system of 4 to 5 cm. Measure your back length (iliac crest → 7th cervical vertebra). If your back length is less than 46 cm, opt for the S version. Between 46 and 52 cm, the standard version is suitable. Beyond that, look for an L version if available. Women often (but not always) have a shorter back — measure before assuming.
The LiTRIC system is rechargeable via USB — ideal for regular users who go out several times a week. The ZERO system uses a compressed cartridge to be replaced after each deployment — ultra-light, recommended if weight is a priority or for less frequent outings. The two systems are not interchangeable with each other or with older generations. Check compatibility on the product sheet before purchase.
