Saucony Size Guide — Shoes

Saucony is an American brand founded in 1898 in Pennsylvania, one of the global references for running. This guide covers all Saucony shoes available on Alpinstore: road running (training, performance, stability), trail, and Originals (lifestyle). Saucony offers men's, women's, and wide versions (for wider feet) on certain models.

Saucony generally fits true to size. Some performance models (Endorphin) may fit slightly more snug — check the recommendations by range below.

Alpinstore Return Advice

  • General Rule: take your usual US size. Saucony fits true to size for the majority of models.
  • Endorphin Pro / Speed / Elite: slightly narrower and snugger toe box. Take your usual size or +0.5 if you have a wide forefoot.
  • Trail (Peregrine, Xodus): true to size. Allow room for thick technical socks on long distances.
  • Originals / Lifestyle (Jazz, Shadow): true to standard US size.
  • Wide Version available on certain models (Ride, Guide, Triumph, Peregrine…). Same EU/US length, wider forefoot. Ideal if you are used to a wide shoe.
  • Measure your foot at the end of the day, after physical activity if possible. Wear the socks you will use for running.

Size Advice by Range

Endorphin Range — Performance

Endorphin Pro / Elite (carbon plate): snug fit. The toe box is narrower than on training models. Take your usual size. If you have a wide forefoot, consider +0.5 US size.

Endorphin Speed (nylon plate): true to size. Very good toe box. Take your usual size.

Training Range — Road

Ride: true to size, accommodating upper, very versatile. Usual size.

Triumph: true to size, comfortable and enveloping fit. Usual size. Long distance and extended race model.

Kinvara: true to size, lightweight and dynamic shoe. Usual size.

Stability Range

Guide: true to size. Soft stability (moderate pronation). Comfortable fit. Usual size.

Hurricane: true to size. Pronounced stability. Toe box neither too wide nor too narrow. Usual size.

Trail

Peregrine: true to size. The Saucony trail reference. Standard fit, good consensus among runners. Usual size.

Xodus / Rift: true to size. Versatile trail models with more volume and protection. Usual size. +0.5 for ultra-trails with thick socks.

Originals & Lifestyle

Jazz / Shadow / Grid: true to US standards. Lifestyle models fit normally like classic sneakers.

Current & Jazz Original: standard fit. If you usually wear EU 42 in sneakers, take EU 42 in Saucony Originals.

Wide Version (for wide feet)

Saucony offers a Wide version on many models (Ride, Guide, Triumph, Peregrine, Kinvara…). The Wide version has the same length as the standard version — only the width of the forefoot and toe box is increased.

Take your usual EU/US size in Wide. Do not take a size up to compensate for the width.

Saucony Technologies

PWRRUN PB

High-performance foam made from PEBA (polyether block amide). Very lightweight, energetic, and bouncy. Present in performance models (Endorphin Pro, Endorphin Speed).

PWRRUN+

Premium soft and comfortable foam, plus cushy than standard PWRRUN. Used in Triumph and Ride. Excellent cushioning for long distances.

PWRRUN

Versatile energetic and durable foam. The base of the training range (Ride, Guide, Kinvara, Peregrine). Good balance of weight/cushioning/reactivity.

Carbon Plate

Full-length carbon fiber plate on the Endorphin Pro and Elite. Maximizes energy transfer and stride efficiency. Reserved for experienced runners.

FORMFIT

Dynamic support system that conforms to the shape of the foot. Present on the Guide and Hurricane models for optimal support without excessive constriction.

Wide (wide version)

Wider shape at the forefoot. Same length as standard. Identified by a " W " or " Wide " on the box. Available on Ride, Guide, Triumph, Kinvara, Peregrine…

How to Measure Your Foot

  1. Place your foot on a sheet of paper, heel against a wall. Wear the socks you will use for running.
  2. Mark the tip of the longest toe with a perpendicular line. Do both feet and keep the larger one.
  3. Measure the distance between the wall and the line in cm. This is your foot length — refer to the table above.
  4. Measure at the end of the day, preferably after physical activity or a walk: the foot is at its maximum volume.
  5. Add about 1 cm to your foot length to determine your ideal size (necessary space at the end of the shoe). If your foot is 27 cm, aim for a shoe with an interior length of 28 cm — about EU 42 in Saucony.

FAQ Saucony Size Guide

Do Saucony shoes run large or small?

Saucony generally fits true to standard US size. The vast majority of models (Ride, Triumph, Guide, Kinvara, Peregrine, Jazz) are true to size. Only the performance models with a snug fit (Endorphin Pro, Elite) have a slightly narrower toe box that may require +0.5 US size if you have a wide forefoot. Always start from your foot measurement in cm rather than your usual size from another brand.

What is the size correspondence between US and EU at Saucony?

At Saucony, the EU/US correspondence differs slightly from other European brands. For example, US 6 men's corresponds to EU 38.5 (and not EU 38 as with other brands). For women, US 7 corresponds to EU 38. Always base your size on your foot length in cm for accurate correspondence.

How to convert from Saucony men's size to women's (or vice versa)?

Saucony women's sizes are about 1.5 US sizes higher than men's sizes for the same EU. Example: US Men's 8 = EU 42.5 = US Women's 9.5. If a woman wants to buy a model that only exists in men's, she subtracts 1.5 from her US women's size. Saucony discourages conversions as the shape of the foot differs between the two lines — a men's model has a larger volume and a wider heel than a women's model of the same EU.

Which Saucony to choose for starting running?

For beginners, the Saucony Ride is often recommended: versatile, comfortable, true to size, available in Wide version. For runners with a tendency to pronation, the Guide provides additional support without being rigid. If you want a lighter shoe to progress quickly, the Kinvara is an excellent affordable option.

What is the difference between Endorphin Pro and Endorphin Speed?

The Endorphin Pro is equipped with a full-length carbon plate, stiffer and more propulsive. It is Saucony's competition model, designed for marathon and half-marathon racing. The Endorphin Speed uses a nylon plate, which is softer. It is more versatile and can be used for both competition and fast training. Both fit true to size.

How to identify a Saucony Wide version?

The Wide version is identified by the letter " W " after the size (e.g., 42W) or the mention " Wide " in the product name. On the Alpinstore website, the Wide version is indicated in the model name. The EU and US sizes remain the same as standard: only the width of the shoe increases. Do not take a larger size if you have a wide foot: take your usual size in Wide.

Saucony size charts based on official grids (sources: official Saucony product sheets). Saucony specifies that since every foot is different, it cannot guarantee the correspondence between men's and women's sizes — base your choice on your foot length in cm. The availability of sizes and Wide versions varies by model — check the product sheet on Alpinstore.
