ABS handling in 10 steps

10 steps to handling theABS (Avalanche Airbag)

1) Check the striker and screw the bottle always before connecting the handle. Pull on the connected handle without having screwed (or badly screwed) the bottle can damage the system.

2) Adjusting the carrying system (chest, lap, chest and under-knee straps)

3) Check the release handle. It must not have already been triggered

4) Plug in the handle, place the handle stem in the axis of the quick coupling and insert it without using force. The locking ring should snap back into place automatically. In case of resistance apply a drop of lubricant. For a good release the ring must be correctly locked.

5) The safety velcro limits unintentional release. In an unsecured area, do not forget to release it and keep at least 1 finger free of play. Disconnect the handle on the ski lifts.

6) Height adjustment of the release handle. It must be located in the chest and shoulder area. For left-handed people the handle can move on the other strap.

7) Disconnect the handle in a safe environment. Push the locking ring upwards without pulling on the handle.

8) In case of need in front of an avalanche, release without hesitation. Bring the right hand to the left shoulder (conversely if using a left-handed system), lower the hand the nail of the shoulder strap to the handle in a dynamic movement, then pull vigorously.

9) Airbag deflation: once out of avalanche reach, raise the red cap of the Venturi valve and simultaneously press the purge button and the airbag.

10) Folding the airbags: always do it in the same direction.
