How to choose your Diamir bindings

This article is intended to introduce you to the range of Swiss Diamir ski bindings and what distinguishes each binding from another. Diamir ski bindings are designed for freeride and ski touring.

Diamir bindings are divided into 2 categories: bar bindings and insert bindings.

The interest of Diamir bindings they are all standardized to take off the front and back of the boot.

1) Bindings with bar

On the fixations with a central bar and frame, the stop and heel block are connected by a frame or a central bar. The boot is held against the sole between the stop and the heel piece as on the fixations alpine ski boots. The walking function is ensured by rotation around an axis at the stop.

The Scout :

This is the lightest bar binding on the market with a weight of 790 grams without ski stop. It is a very easy to use binding as it is close to an alpine ski binding. The disadvantage of bar bindings is still the weight but still promote your safety.

Designed for which skis? less than 90 mm from the base.

Who is it for? For skiers who want to discover ski touring and who generally have a vertical drop of less than 500 metres.

The DIN is up to 10, i.e. for sizes up to 80 kg.

The Eagle :

The EagleDiamir is a binding with bar, it is heavier than the Scout but more reinforced (at the base it is sold for rental so a little stronger and more durable). The difference is mainly seen for those who want to make jumps and those who have a more aggressive ski.

Designed for which skis? less than 100 mm below the skate.

For whom? For skiers who love ski touring and will appreciate it when going downhill for jumps or those with more aggressive skiing.

The DIN is up to 12 or for sizes up to 100 kg.

The Freeride Pro :

It's a binding designed to be more stable downhill. The DIN adjustment is done at the front and at the back. It's the same hole as the Eagles.

Designed for which skis? less than 110 mm from the base.

For whom? For skiers who love ski touring and will appreciate it when going downhill for jumps or those with more aggressive skiing.

The DIN is up to 12 or for sizes up to 100 kg.

2) The Pine Bindings

With stop and heel pins and inserts on the side of the sole to hold the shoe in place. The walking function is achieved by rotating the shoe on the two front pins located in the sole inserts.
