The Blueprint project stems from the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. We are looking at all aspects of our business, including our processes, products and suppliers. As a company that markets products, much of our impact and opportunity depends on how and where we make our products.

One of the key tasks of our research and development team is to find environmentally friendly solutions without compromising the safety of our products. Whenever possible, we choose materials and designs that reduce environmental impact. This is our commitment to the next generation of athletes. We take a circular and resource-efficient approach, paying close attention to the resources needed for each function of our products.

We prioritize appropriate materials, such as recycled or bio-based materials, while optimizing a product's durability, versatility and recyclability to delay its transformation into waste. The outdoor sports industry has long used PFAS treatments for their water and dust resistance, as well as biocides for their odor control properties. However, these treatments pose a risk to the environment, and POC is actively working to phase them out.

We already no longer use long-chain PFAS treatments in our products, and we are in the process of phasing out models that use short-chain PFAS treatments and biocides. We have been able to do this by using new technologies and identifying the features that are really needed. It may not be realistic to expect mud to slip off a pair of pants when cycling on trails. However, if a cycling jacket that is supposed to protect you from the rain does not keep you dry, the resources used to produce it have not been used wisely.
