A revolution in mountain safety: the avalanche transceiver with unrivalled stability and accuracy

The PRO IPS from Pieps is an innovative avalanche transceiver, the result of over four years' development. It promises to revolutionize mountain safety with its 80 m search bandwidth and stable performance.

It incorporates IPS and DASP technologies for reliable directional indication. It also features an anti-interference system for optimum signal stability. Additional features, such as the scanning function and visual, acoustic and haptic assistance, save valuable search time.

Benefits

  • With a search bandwidth of 80 m, PRO IPS offers stable transmission and search performance.
  • Integrates IPS and DASP technologies for reliable, stable directional indication, minimizing interference.
  • Includes time-saving features for the search phase, such as rapid overview in the event of multiple burials.

Details

  • Simultaneous processing of signals from x and y antennas during dual-antenna signal processing. This guarantees even more precise localization of the transmitted signal, effective elimination of interference, reduced costs and a very high range. As soon as the first signal is received, the user benefits from an extremely reliable and stable indication of direction.
  • The scanning function provides a rapid overview of the situation in the event of multiple burials, by displaying the number of people buried within a specific distance interval.
  • Victim selection is based on a situation-optimized search strategy. In detailed scan mode, the transceiver displays direction and distance for each grave, facilitating a targeted rescue strategy.
  • In pro group control mode, the system effectively checks that the beacons in the group are transmitting and receiving correctly.
  • The inclinometer, an included function, indicates the inclination of the terrain.
  • Advanced search control offers visual, acoustic and haptic assistance during the search. It prompts you to turn back if you approach in the wrong direction (180° error).
  • The automatic antenna switch always uses the antenna with the strongest signal.
  • Sophisticated signal verification at Pieps eliminates ghost signals, displaying only avalanche beacon signals and no "ghost signals" from other sources.
  • Automatic search-to-send is activated in the event of a secondary avalanche. The avalanche detector automatically switches from search to send after a certain period of inactivity, with the motion detector registering no movement.
  • Deep burial recognition enables the system to detect and indicate burials deeper than 2 meters.
  • Finally, the backup mode is designed for rescuers carrying out passive search tasks, such as probing or shovelling.
