HOW IS THE FUTURELIGHT™ MEMBRANE CREATED?

The North Face used a production method called nanofibering, which creates nanometric-sized fibers allowing air permeability while maintaining waterproofness. Find our entire selection of winter and summer clothing to enjoy all the new textile technologies.

This solution is then used to create a waterproof-breathable film, which will be welded to the outer and inner layers of the fabric. Particularly suited for all outdoor activities, also consider choosing a men's bike jacket offering optimal protection.

Thanks to these nanoscopic fibers, fine enough to allow air to pass through the membrane while preventing water from penetrating, our FUTURELIGHT™ fabric achieves an exceptional level of air permeability.

However, the FUTURELIGHT™ technology impresses especially with its versatility. The designers at The North Face can now adjust the weight, elasticity, breathability, and even the durability of the garment during the manufacturing process to meet the needs of athletes based on their activity. THE ADVANTAGES OF THE MEMBRANE

1. Better breathability: the membrane is designed with micro-perforations that allow air to pass without significantly reducing waterproofness.
