THE BRAND FOCUSES ON ECOLOGY
USE OF ORGANIC COTTON
The Californian brand has worked hard on its sustainable development and in particular on its objectives to reduce the impact on the environment by reducing the use of traditional cotton. The latter impacts not only nature but also human health. To do this, different alternatives have been taken including the use of 100% organic cotton since summer 2018 to PRANA .
No chemicals required This raw material renounces the use of pesticides and insecticides that would be toxic to our health. It considerably reduces acidification, restores soil fertility and leads to biodiversity.
Water protection : The production of one kilo of conventional cotton requires 20,000 L of water. On the other hand, although organic cotton could not grow without water, it requires much less - a 91% reduction for irrigation. The reason? better treated soils allow for better water infiltration and therefore require less water.
Protection of working conditions : Among the various existing reasons, we retain essentially that the culture of organic cotton favours the security and independence of farmers and their families since their health is no longer exposed to chemical products.
Awareness: Dressing in organic cotton means that you have a positive impact on soil fertility, water savings and farmers' lives. This raw material, organic cotton, is often recommended for people with sensitive skin or allergies.
RECYCLED WOOL
There are many benefits of wearing wool: ability to regulate body temperature, recyclable material, durable and resistant to mildew. This raw material is woven into yarn and knitted into comfortable pieces.
RECYCLED POLYESTER
This polyester comes from recycled plastic bottles but also from pre-consumer waste. It therefore contains less toxins or energy used in the manufacture of the bottles since this raw material is recycled.

Since 2012, PRANA is partnering with Bluesign® to ensure that production is carried out with the greatest respect for the environment and through human safety standards.
FAIR TRADE CERTIFIED™
Prana is one of the companies to guarantee its products "Fair trade" and since 2010, the production tries to maximize its products by adhering to 4 important pillars: rigorous standards, community development funds, transparent supply chains and conscious consumers. This means safe working conditions, no child or forced labour, elimination of harmful chemicals, maternity leave and much more. This certification allows for 3 main actions: an additional premium directly reimbursed to workers; a democratic process that dictates how these funds are invested; and community development, especially for the families of farmers and factory workers.
