3-Day Trek Morocco Outdoor Brand: Story, Tips, and Equipment

Spring is the perfect season for a trek to Toubkal. Here we share three intense, technical, and sincere days experienced by our ambassador Chloé. It's a story of altitude, shared effort, breathtaking views, and simple pleasure: walking, breathing, being alive.

Arrival in Marrakech: thermal shock. The next day we head to Aremd, the starting point. The scenery changes quickly: adobe villages, stony valleys, plateaus. For those aiming for a 4000 in Morocco, preparation is key: physical condition, gradual acclimatization, and reliable gear.

Day 1: from Aremd (alt. 1900m) to the Toubkal CAF refuge (alt. 3207m). After a night with our local host, we start with a flat valley followed by an ascent to Sidi Chamarouch. Along the way, mules, encounters, and that sense of travel that sticks to your body. We learn to manage our pace, to drink, to eat, to listen to our bodies.

Day 2: very early departure with headlamps to reach the summit of Djebel Toubkal (alt. 4167m). Caution is essential: snowfields, rocks, slope. We ascend at our own pace, taking turns, motivating each other. And then the reward: the 360° view and that mixed feeling of pride and humility. We capture the moment, share, and contemplate.

Day 3: double summit on Timzguida and Ouanoukrim before descending back to Aremd. Ridges, small climbing passages, cairns, and vast solitude. Then the descent on snow, the meal at the refuge, the warmth of the gîte, and those nights when you can't close your eyes as your brain remixes the day.

We recommend some technical choices to ensure your 3-day trek in Morocco is a success: choose your footholds wisely, manage your energy, and have the right equipment. A little focus on the essential gear, tested in the field by our team.

  • appropriate shoes: rigidity, grip, comfort.
  • technical layers: breathable and insulating depending on altitude.
  • protection against the elements: cap, sunscreen, and a good jacket.
  • small first aid kit and water reserve.

When choosing your trekking poles, consider adjustable length and a good grip. They will save your knees on the descent and help you on steep passages. In the same vein, a good rain cover to protect your gear avoids cold sweats when the weather turns.

Regarding shoes, check out our selection of hiking shoes available on our site: we prioritize technical models, grippy soles, and ankle support. If you prefer more support for alpine passages, consider high-top hiking shoes that offer protection and stability.

Want to limit your budget without sacrificing safety? We explain how to find good and reliable gear: quality markers, materials to prioritize, and where to find affordable hiking gear without falling into traps.

If your goal goes beyond simple hiking and you want to evolve towards more challenging routes, you will need to buy suitable mountaineering equipment: crampons, ice axes, harnesses, and know-how to use them. We emphasize: do not mix mountaineering and light hiking without training.

Also compare performance hiking clothing: breathability, fit, water-repellent treatment, and durability. On a trek like Toubkal, conditions can change quickly, and you want pieces that dry fast and provide good protection.

Finally, think of the little details that make a difference: a filtering water bottle, an effective headlamp, and some quality hiking accessories to avoid inconveniences. These lightweight elements enhance the experience more than you can imagine.

Organization and safety: to access Toubkal National Park, the presence of a local guide is required. We encourage you to hire recognized guides, with whom you can exchange, share breaks, and learn about local culture. They know the trails, the best campsites and gîtes, and manage the unexpected.

Testimony from Chloé: "We went up as five, we came down as companions. The summit gave me an emotional slap: first 4000, yes, but above all a real human experience." This story aligns with our DNA: a young, committed team that tests and selects each product in the field.

As an outdoor brand, AlpinStore aims for practical excellence: we don't sell promises, we offer solutions. Whether you are contemplative, intrepid, or simply curious, this 3-day trek in Morocco invites you to go out, learn, and share.

Before you leave: pack your bag carefully, test your equipment, limit the superfluous. And above all: enjoy. The mountain will give you back much more than you give it.

If you wish to extend the adventure, contact our team or visit our store for personalized advice. We assist you in choosing gear, planning, and safety, because every outing should remain a moment of pleasure and respect for the environment.

Thanks to the friends from the climbing team, the local guide, and everyone who makes these adventures possible. See you soon on the trails.
