In winter, the mountains and their white landscapes, get away from it all on your unmarked itineraries to enjoy the great outdoors, in the heart of nature, with ski touring. Change your ski equipment to take advantage of the first snowflakes.
A wide choice depending on your level and intended use.
Touring skis are generally multi-purpose skis, such as versatile blizzard skis. They need to be light for ascents and comfortable for descents off-piste. For freeride or touring skis, find pairs for men and women.
Widths are generally between 75 and 85 cm, and cores are made of lightweight wood, usually combined with carbon fiber for good rigidity. This also improves handling on hard snow. Rib lines have been modernized for greater skiability, so that performance and pleasure go hand in hand!
The weight of your skis is an essential factor for multi-day outings and raids. It's a question of size, and we generally recommend that a pair of skis weigh no more than 2.2 kg for a height of 170 cm. Length is also a function of height, and should not exceed + or - 5 cm.
Free-rando skis are wider, with runners ranging from 90 mm to over 100 mm; they are also heavier and have insert bindings. The length of the ski should be adapted to your height, up to plus 10 cm. For powder snow, a soft ski is preferable. Stiff skis are ideal for steep descents and couloirs. Find the ideal freerando model at Black Crows or Faction.

Let's not forget safety when practicing this sport. Add the necessary equipment for safety with a DVA kit (Avalanche Victim Locator/ARVA, shovel and probe), helmet and airbag, so you can be sure you're in safe hands.
