Ski touring test Skitrab Altavia Carbon 2015 / 2016

Presentation

The Altavia Carbon ski from Skitrab is a model for skiers looking for fun on the way up and down. Taking the best of Trab technology and the Attivo progressive tip, this ski combines lightness, ease, reliability, grip and performance. Ideal for hard snow and steep slopes.

Test conditions

Skis mounted with a VIPEC, 900 meters of D+ in powder at Sullens near Thônes between the Aravis and the Tournette.

Advantages of the Altavia Carbon

On the ascent it is indeed a relatively light ski so it is accessible to those who are looking for a ski that is not heavy for the ascent. We tested it with Colltex skins (sticky).

On the descent, the first thing you notice is that it is a reassuring and very pleasant ski whatever the type of slope. We tested it in powder snow. Very good reception of the shock absorbers. It adapts perfectly to the change of snow which is relatively important in ski touring. A ski that is easy to use throughout the season.

The Altavia Carbon ski is slightly lighter than the classic Altavia and gives you the same performance. Its weight is 1.1 kg for the size 157 cm.

A new look and very nice.
