MOUNTAIN EQUIPMENT IS THIS:

Mountain Equipment was founded in 1961 in the United Kingdom with the goal of making clothing for climbing the world's highest peaks. Since then, the brand has participated in countless climbs around the world and helped many climbers discover new and more adventurous routes.
Passion is at the heart of Mountain Equipment's work, which allows them to test and design their products in real-life conditions so that the user is in the best possible condition to face the elements. The brand is positioned as one of the references in mountain equipment. It mainly offers jackets and sleeping bags with different technologies for different practices and weather conditions.

PRODUCTS TO FACE THE MOUNTAIN:

As the brand says so well: "It's our job to make the best equipment in the world." And the brand justifies this by the technologies embedded in their products. Indeed, the textiles offered include quality materials such as down for jackets or sleeping bags, down of natural origin or recycled from old products. This down allows an insulation of the cold in the most extreme conditions. In addition, the brand offers a whole range of products with a GORE-TEX membrane, a membrane that is currently a reference in the sports sector and no longer needs to prove itself.

PRODUCTS THAT RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT:

Mountain Equipment offers products of exemplary quality but does not neglect its love for nature and the impact of its choices on theenvironment. Indeed, the brand is committed on different points to reduce as much as possible its negative impact on nature. Mountain Equipment has recently launched the DOWN CODEX a program to ensure the good quality of the down used and that the animals used are well treated. The brand is committed to using only down from the meat industry and that the birds have been slaughtered humanely. In addition, the down must not be taken from live birds, from force-fed birds and must come from birds raised in accordance with animal welfare standards. In order to verify that these conditions are respected, the brand goes directly to the farms and breedings. This is a proof of their commitment to animal abuse.
Mountain Equipment also wants to launch a program to create a closed loop for down and stuffing. The program was launched in 2017 on their Earthrise line and should within a few years be present on all their product lines. The program, called Down Cycle, consists of reclaiming the brand's old products and extracting as much reusable material for other products as possible. Once the material is harvested, it is then washed and re-implanted in new products. Mountain Equipment's goal is to create a closed cycle of down and stuffing and not have to use down from birds. The remains in the form of dust are mixed with a resin and are used as fertilizer. The brand is now acting for the environment and plans to improve their impact in the future, making it a true Eco-friendly brand.
