It may seem illogical at first glance, but merino wool is one of the most comfortable fibres for summer. Why is that? Its incredibly fine and light fibres absorb large amounts of water vapour, which they effectively transfer to the atmosphere (by evaporation). Merino wool also provides natural protection against UVA and UVB rays.

Icebreaker's COOL-LITE™ technology combines merino wool, with its natural breathability and comfort, with TENCEL®, a natural fibre made from sustainable eucalyptus trees. This fabric wicks away perspiration three times faster than merino wool alone. It's the perfect combination for those who want to be active, while staying comfortably dry even in the middle of summer.

A SOFTER FIBRE BLEND

The TENCEL®fibre has a round cross-section and a smooth surface: when combined with the soft, fine fibres of merino wool, it creates an incredibly comfortable and silky fabric with a beautiful drape.

HEAT EVAPORATION

Encourages evaporation to keep you cool and dry. TENCEL® fibres remain soft and dry on the outside, but retain moisture on the inside. The fabric remains dry to the touch. TENCEL® microfibres accelerate the transfer of moisture into the fibre.

RESISTS ODOURS

Bacterial growth on TENCEL® fibres is lower than on synthetic fibres. This helps to minimise bad odours. TENCEL® also offers the best environment between textile and skin. In this way, the bacteria in the skin keep their balance.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

TENCEL® is obtained from sustainably grown eucalyptus wood pulp. It is an environmentally friendly fabric, thanks to closed-loop production, in which 99.5 to 99.8% of the solvent used to produce TENCEL® is recycled.
