We are passionate about producing durable, high-quality outdoor gear so that everyone can comfortably camp, explore the backcountry, and enjoy outdoor activities.

Over 20 years ago, Big Agnes had a goal of designing better camping gear for people who loved to explore the backcountry in comfort. Their initial idea was to provide adventurers with unparalleled sleeping comfort by eliminating the need to sleep on a ground mattress. But who could have predicted that two decades later, their company would be winning awards for their gear, pioneering sustainability with their solution-dyed tent fabrics, and helping people carry their gear in backpacks?

Today, the importance of enjoying, protecting and preserving the outdoor environment is greater than ever. Big Agnes continues to inspire people by providing the gear they need to comfortably camp, explore public lands and have fun. Just like you, their team is motivated to get out on the trails and camp again and again.

Our company is based in a northwest Colorado ski resort, surrounded by a beautiful outdoor environment that serves as a playground for testing our products. The Continental Divide Trail and Mount Zirkel Wilderness are favorite destinations for skiing, hiking and mountain biking. The Yampa River is nearby, providing a peaceful atmosphere for lunch hours. Our guests inspire us by using our products to spend unforgettable nights under the stars. We are committed to continuing to innovate to reduce our environmental impact so that future generations can also enjoy the backcountry in ultimate comfort. Big Agnes strives to reduce our environmental impact through a variety of sustainable initiatives in manufacturing, materials sourcing and facilities from our home town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to our products used around the world. We are proud to announce that all three of our U.S. locations now purchase 100% renewable electric power through offset programs.

Since 2006, our Steamboat Springs warranty and repair center has been powered by the Yampa Valley Electrical Association's Green Choice 100% renewable energy offset program. In 2020, our headquarters joined this same program in partnership with the City of Steamboat Springs. Finally, our Salt Lake City distribution center transitioned to a 100% renewable energy offset program in 2021!

We've been incorporating sustainable practices into the manufacturing and sourcing of materials for our products since 2007, when we launched our Re-Routt collection. We've won several awards from Outside magazine for their Green Gear of the Year. The industry has progressed since then in terms of availability and more affordable production costs for high quality recycled materials for outdoor gear as well as reduced impact manufacturing processes.

At Big Agnes, we are united in our efforts to produce the most sustainable products. In all product categories, we are 100% PFAS-free, in keeping with our policy to limit the use of hazardous chemicals.
