Marcel Livet, a French wooden ski brand, a blend of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge engineering.

New Performance ski range

A new direction is taking shape with the launch of the brand-new Performance range by Marcel Livet. The brand is delighted to present this new product series, which represents the beginning of an innovative sports program, embodied by the introduction of the first four models. This collection joins our existing Héritage range, offering a new line of skis oriented towards excellence in performance and efficiency in turns.

Marcel Livet has innovated to improve performance while remaining true to his philosophy. "We redesigned the core of the skis using solid wood cores, combining the advantages of ash, poplar and bamboo to suit the specific needs of each model."Each type of wood brings its own balance in terms of weight, strength and elasticity.

In essence, wood is the material of choice for the manufacture of these skis, offering the best possible ecological footprint. It makes up most of the core and sidewalls, making it the dominant material in the composition of these skis. Mechanically, wood plays a central role in the construction of the skis, providing the power, agility and unique snow-contact signature that the brand strives for.

Fiberglass and Titanal reinforcements are adjusted to suit each configuration. Fiberglass, an essential element in construction, plays a crucial role in adjusting elasticity and mechanical strength. The choice of weave, grammage and fiber orientation forms the basis for the design of each ski model.

Titanal is an advanced alloy offering excellent mechanical properties and an exceptional weight-performance ratio. It is the key component for outstanding stability on hard snow surfaces and excellent responsiveness, thanks to its ability to hold the ski firmly in torsion.

Thus, by precisely combining these three materials, the brand is able to meet the performance, lightness and dynamism criteria set for this new range. The result is an exceptional and unique skiing experience for every model in the range.

Ethical and environmentally responsible manufacturing

With this new product line, the brand has created items that reflect its core values: responsible production and a reduced environmental footprint. The brand firmly believes that the responsibility of production lies with local manufacturing, which is part of a local ecosystem, thus contributing to a more ethical economy. Marcel Livet has opted for a short distribution process, eliminating the majority of undesirable logistical travel.

Proud of its attachment to the Haute-Savoie region, all Marcel Livet skis are produced within a 250 km radius of Annecy. Production is split between in-house manufacturing, 100% made in France, and Italian production on the other side of the Mont-Blanc.

In addition, the brand believes it has a duty to innovate in order to design sustainable products that can be efficiently recycled through new and developing channels. To improve their recyclability, the list of materials used has been simplified and the use of plastics has been limited. The brand replaces most plastic components with wood, achieving an average of 70% wood in each ski. Combined with the use of metals (aluminum, steel and titanium) that can be recycled, the recyclability rate of skis at the end of their life reaches 74%.
Finally, with regard to material sourcing, the brand is committed to using only wood from FSC-certified forests managed according to rigorous environmental, social and ethical standards.
