A history of values and perseverance

The Tasmanische Tiger, also known as the Tasmanian Wolf, was the largest carnivorous marsupial on the Australian continent. Similar in size to a small wolf, it got its name "TASMANIAN TIGER" from its striped coat, which served as camouflage. This animal was a predator, and although not very fast, it was extremely perseverant. It hunted its prey at night, pursuing it relentlessly until it ran out of energy, then capturing it without mercy. With superior dentition and a jaw that could open up to 180 degrees, it made no concessions to its prey.

The TASMANIAN TIGER is reported to have disappeared from mainland Australia in the 1930s, with the last remaining population on the island of Tasmania. In 1966, a vast animal sanctuary was created to provide refuge for the animals and preserve the species. To date, no recent sightings of the TASMANIAN TIGER have been recorded, although many believe the animal may have survived in the sanctuary, escaping detection until now...

In this emblematic legend, the animal's special characteristics - its will to survive, its hunting instinct, its perfect camouflage, its intelligence, strength and perseverance - come to the fore. These distinctive traits inspired us to name our products TASMANIAN TIGER.

The legend lives on!

The SA 8000 social standard, one of the most comprehensive in the world

SA 8000 certification guarantees ethical production. Since 2011, the production facilities of Mountech Co. Ltd. have been certified to this social standard, attesting to fair and socially acceptable working conditions.

The SA8000 initiative was launched in 1987 by the New York-based non-profit organization SAI (Social Accountability International). It offers companies with their own production sites the opportunity to demonstrate their social responsibility, subjecting them to the most exhaustive and comprehensive standards in the world. These standards are based on national laws, the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and the labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

The certificate obtained is valid for three years, at the end of which a new audit is carried out to verify compliance with the requirements. Compliance with these requirements is verified twice a year. Certification and checks are carried out by independent companies accredited by SAI, including TÜV Rheinland. In July 2017, TÜV Rheinland carried out a new audit, which confirmed compliance with current SA 8000 standards for a further three years.
