The Faction La Machine Mini is a carbon touring ski, specially designed for off-piste skiing. It features a lightweight paulownia wood core and carbon layers, offering lightness and flexibility, ideal for long hikes. Its unique shape is suited for skiers who enjoy varying their movements in all weather conditions. It is made in Austria, sustainably and fully powered by renewable energy.

Technical characteristics: 

• Extended tip and tail rocker: refers to an inverted camber shape present at the tip and tail of the ski. This feature, combined with the width at the waist, is essential for ensuring excellent floatation in fresh snow. The extended rocker also facilitates ski maneuverability, allowing for easier turns while reducing the risk of unwanted edge catch.
• Paulownia core: a hard and stable wood, is combined with poplar, a softer wood, to enhance flexibility and rebound of the ski. This combination of two types of wood creates an ultralight core while maintaining maximum responsiveness and dynamics.
• Carbon fibers: Between 8 and 12 strips of carbon fibers are arranged unidirectionally on each side of the core to increase stability without adding weight. Each carbon strip is carefully woven with fiberglass to provide optimal strength and rigidity in all directions.
• Surf zones: technology developed to harmonize the rocker and the tapered shape of the tips, ensuring perfect interaction between these two key characteristics. The rocker provides exceptional floatation and increased maneuverability, while the tapered tips shift the widest part of the ski towards the center, thereby reducing the risk of unwanted edge catch. This technology offers excellent floatation and a smooth feel, regardless of conditions.
• Full Strength Sidewall Construction: involves adding layers of protective material along the edges of the sidewall, between the ski edge and the topsheet. This technique ensures optimal stability and grip when the ski negotiates a turn, while protecting the wood core, edges, and outer surface from impacts and potential damage.
• CAP construction at tip and tail: reinforces the central part of the ski with extremely robust edges, while the topsheet is wrapped. This technique protects the ski from impacts, thereby improving its durability, while reducing overall weight, which favors freestyle or touring practice.
