  • What’s new?

A new buckle system, the WAVE closure. It guarantees a precise wrap of the foot at four points between the ankle and forefoot that equalizes pressure on the foot. 3 adjustment points are available for this system: the 3-tooth ratchet on the lever (1), the micro-regulator on the toe (2), and a second position for the lever on the strap (3) to allow for more effective tightening.

The boot is therefore more comfortable, more precise, offers a better fit for more skiability and precision. This new design also makes it more suitable for wider skis. And for those looking for performance or good deals, don’t hesitate to discover our affordable backcountry skis selected for all budgets.

  • Eco-responsible materials

This boot is made to last and accompany you for many years in the mountains. It is made from Pebax Rnew®, a material sourced from renewable sources, and contains no PVC. The Ortholite insole is made from recycled materials. Also, the boot has been constructed so that all components can be maintained by the user using specific tools. For varied adventures, consider buying climbing and après-ski shoes to cover all your daily needs in the mountains.
What is Pebax Rnew?

Pebax® appeared on the market in the 1980s. With exceptional technical characteristics, this material is now widely used by SCARPA in the manufacture of backcountry ski boots and trail-running shoes. It is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) that provides elasticity and durability, developed by Arkema, a major player in global chemistry and specialist in high-performance materials.

In constant pursuit of innovation, Arkema has more recently developed Pebax® Rnew®, the world’s first bio-sourced TPE, made from renewable raw materials. Derived from castor beans, Pebax® Rnew® elastomers retain the exceptional properties of PEBAX®, including lightness, resistance to bending, and elastic recovery, while being part of an eco-design approach.
The construction of the boot is also certified PVC FREE.

DID YOU KNOW?

Scarpa was a pioneer in 2007 when the company chose advanced bio-sourced Pebax® Rnew® polymers for its shoes, thus maintaining a high level of performance and taking a step towards more sustainable material sourcing.

Today the company continues its path towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly production: a commitment that the brand has always pursued, even at a time when media and public awareness was less significant than it is today.

In numbers:

29% less energy from non-renewable sources than traditional plastics.
32% less CO2 emissions over 100m of Pebax Rnew, (compared to TPU production)
