Born and based in the Swiss Alps, the Faction collective is united by a common vision: to create a new generation of alpine ski equipment where performance and style come together.

Faction skis are tools for escape, made with respect for the environment and with a vision for a better and more sustainable future. At Faction, protecting the natural playgrounds and outdoor spaces we love is a passion. They are committed to integrating sustainable practices throughout the company and sharing these values with the collective, inspiring activism and driving positive change - to encourage the next generation to connect with nature and change the skiing game. What are the three values that underpin the activism of the Collective?

BUILT TO LAST

At Faction, they believe that quality is one of the best ways to be sustainable. They make durable skis so that their fans can enjoy them year after year, which prevents them from buying new skis season after season and sending old skis to the landfill. To further their commitment, the company recommends prioritizing sustainable manufacturing purchases.

Their equipment manufacturing team is now based in Innsbruck, Austria: the reference in handmade ski manufacturing to ensure that Faction skis are built to last. During the design and production phase, the skis undergo rigorous testing in the lab and on the mountain. This ensures that the skis are tested for proper use and will last even for the most demanding skiers.

Centralizing production improves quality as well as production processes. Reducing production waste means that the entire production cycle is more sustainable.

BETTER FOR A REASON

Alongside the reference for superior quality, The Faction Collective strives to find suppliers that reflect its vision of a sustainable future. The majority of raw materials come from Europe, where our skis are produced, thus eliminating the carbon cost of transporting raw materials over long distances. These materials are FSC certified, meaning that the forests from which their wood comes are managed in a way that supports environmental and social sustainability. Discover also our recyclable materials and our wide range of natural materials for an even more committed approach.

Regarding recycled materials, they work with their production partners to eliminate material waste. They mix waste materials from the base, sides, and topsheet with raw materials used for production, which reduces carbon emissions while ensuring the same level of quality and durability.

INSPIRE, ENGAGE, EMPOWER

True to the values of the Collective, they are committed to working with people and organizations that share their vision of a sustainable future in the outdoor industry. Here are a few. As a proud partner of 1% for the Planet, they donate 1% of all sales of their Agent Series skis to approved nonprofit environmental organizations. The mission of 1% for the Planet is to build, support, and activate an alliance of financially committed businesses to create a healthy planet. You can also support positive impact with a responsible fair trade purchase.

The association works hand in hand with Protect Our Winters (POW), a nonprofit organization made up of outdoor workers whose mission is to protect the places and lifestyles they love from climate change, as part of a number of environmental campaigns, financial support, and even collaborated on the creation of an eco-friendly ski, the Agent 4.0 POW Collab. To prepare well for your season, consider buying ski gear online or discovering our complete ski equipment to ensure optimal performance while respecting the environment.

Carbon-neutral film production: their films aim to showcase the beauty of skiing, but they certainly have a cost for our natural playground. For their latest film Roots, they partnered with ClimatePartners to offset their emissions by investing in renewable wind energy.
