AMPLID IS THE RESULT OF A MEETING BETWEEN THE PASSION AND TALENT OF TWO MEN

Amplid is a brand of splitboards and snowboards, created by the great snowboarder Peter Bauer and his friend Anian Thrainer in 2005. Their mission is to offer high quality equipment with an impeccable level of finishing to ensure innovative and unique products. Amplid was born and continues to grow in the European Alps, a region rich in industrial and sporting expertise.

The missions of Amplid

Thanks to Peter Bauer's experience, Amplid knows that quality equipment makes all the difference in the mountains. So they work hard to create the highest quality freeride equipment. Exceptional craftsmanship, durable thinking and a keen eye for detail are essential pieces of the puzzle, which is why Amplid snowboards are made in one of the most advanced factories in the world.

Amplid's goal is to shape the future of freeriding by sharing its passion for the sport, for big ideas, for cutting-edge technology, but most of all for its responsible identity.

THE LIGHTEST AMPLID SPLITBOARD IN THE WORLD

By reducing its environmental impact Amplid has also managed to offer THE lightest splitboard on the market, the Milligram split. The combination of innovative weight-saving materials has allowed Amplid to shave 200 grams off the previous title holder. It is the ideal companion for long rides and epic descents.

Thanks to the Antiphase technology, developed in-house by Amplid, you will be able to ride on all terrains and in all snow conditions, this technology improves the stability of the board by reducing vibrations.

Within the range of splitboards there is also the Tour Operator split, known for its excellent value for money, the Surf Shuttle for its perfect mix of Milligram and Milisurf and its fish tail. The Mahalo split is specific to women to give them the light response and stability they require.

A CONTINUOUS PROCESS TO REDUCE ITS ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT

Amplid is committed to preserving the planet and is actively working to minimize its impact on the environment. Aware that snowboard manufacturing will always have an environmental footprint, Amplid's goal is to minimize this footprint, developing new eco-technological manufacturing processes to keep the fun of an activity in nature. It is the first snowboard company to follow such an environmentally friendly manufacturing process by eliminating as much as possible materials that are harmful to the planet. Amplid has found the right mix between performance and durability. It's not an easy challenge, but the brand believes that sustainability plays a key role in environmental impact and strives to develop it, while engaging in associations that aim to preserve nature.

The use of more environmentally friendly materials

The wood is sustainably harvested and is FSC certified (The FSC label is mobilized against environmental degradation, in terms of biodiversity and landscapes, but also against the social disruption that can be caused by poor forest management), As far as the textile range is concerned, the digital prints comply with AZO certification, i.e. without heavy metals and therefore ecological, respectful of the environment and hypoallergenic for the user. Its quality is certified by the Oeko-Tex standard, which imposes very strict rules in order not to harm the health of consumers and the planet. The energy chosen for the production of Amplid products is a photovoltaic system, because today's solar panels considerably limit CO2 emissions and are 99% recyclable.

Collaboration with Plant For The Planet

In November 2020, Amplid signed a partnership with the Plant-for-the-Planet foundation to support the planting of trees on the Yucatán peninsula and the fight against the climate crisis. Indeed, planting trees generates jobs, is good for biodiversity and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Trees save precious time and help keep the temperature rise below 2°C.
