LEKI: quality and efficiency

The LEKI brand was created in 1948 by Karl Lenhart, who at the time was a skier dissatisfied with the quality and functionality of the ski poles on the market. As a result, the designer decided to manufacture the handles and washers himself before launching production series in the 1960s. The first model of ski poles was launched on the market in 1970.

To diversify its offer, LEKI launches out in the summer sticks very often used for hiking, trail or trekking. In 1974, the Makalu stick was a real success by being the first on the market to present itself with an adjustment system. A few years later in 1982, the brand developed trekking poles with shock absorbing damping for maximum comfort. It should also be noted that mountaineering was seduced by the brand with folding poles presented in 2013.

In parallel with its innovations, the team thought about and developed the handles to obtain an incredible grip. It is in 1998 that LEKI revolutionizes the stick market with a system never seen before: trigger. But 10 years later, it is the Trigger S system that takes the upper hand by being a spectacular innovation. The glove and the stick combine and no longer detaches except in case of a fall or voluntary action.

To go further in its product ranges, LEKI has developed an external adjustment system: speed lock. The pair of sticks can thus be adjusted by a simple gesture.

As said before, the LEKI brand wanted to offer its customers several ranges. This is why it is diversifying its offer by presenting ski poles, trail poles, mountaineering poles, hiking poles, trekking poles and cross-country ski poles.
