The DUFOUR family has always been an ambitious and innovative family. It has always been focused on tourism and winter sports. First owner of a hotel, Louis DUFOUR, the father, is the pioneer of the use of ski in Normandy Switzerland and the organization of competitions.
In 1933, things changed when his son Eric, an engineer, designed a canvas rescue sled that could be used to transport injured people with his skis. The company Louis Dufour & fils was created and renamed POMOCA in 1937 . At the beginning, it sold sports articles and anti-slip skins for skis.
Then in 1970, the company moved up a level with the creation of self-adhesive skins. The son Guy, who took over the company in 1988, also brought all his knowledge in the field to considerably increase the waterproofness of the products. It is this technique, this constant evolution and the numerous technological innovations that have made POMOCA a world leader in its field to this day.
For several years now, POMOCA has been implementing various environmental programs, including the reduction of waste, the creation of fluoride-free skins, and the "Track Your Skin" program, in an effort to promote eco-responsibility and transparency. This program allows, via the serial number present on the products, to trace and discover the process of creation of the skin. By whom was it created? How was it created? All these questions that many people ask themselves and that are very rarely revealed by companies.
