Edelrid - 150 years of experience in the field of climbing

Brand history

Bearing the names of its creators, Julius Edelmann and Carl Ridder, Edelrid (EDEL+RID) was created in 1863.
The brand was, at its beginnings, specialized in the manufacture of climbing ropes. The brand stands out from its competitors and revolutionizes the world of climbing in the 1950s with the invention of the braided rope which resulted in great success.
Edelrid continues to improve its materials and production techniques to achieve, since the 1960s, the design of a rope that can withstand multiple falls. This rope is the precursor of the current, modern, and dynamic climbing rope. Elderid is also the first in the world to have launched on the market ropes meeting strict Bluesign standards.
Edelrid perfectly combines innovation and ecological responsibility, allowing it to be closely aligned with current environmental challenges.

The strengths of Edelrid

Elederid continues to develop. Apart from ropes, it offers various climbing materials and accessories: carabiners, helmets, crampons, ice axes, via ferrata sets, mountain sports clothing, etc.
