For more than two decades, we have put our expertise and know-how at the disposal of amateur and professional athletes. BV Sport was founded in 1998 by Dr. Michaël Prüfer, multiple world champion and Olympic champion in speed skiing at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games.

As a professional, he understood the importance of recovery to improve performance and created a revolutionary new concept of compression socks, specially designed for athletes. The success of our products was immediate, used by the biggest European clubs and the best international athletes. Since then, BV Sport has established itself as a reference in the field of contention/compression for athletes thanks to our years of scientific research, our patents and our collaborations with the technical and medical staffs of professional federations and clubs. We offer products adapted to all athletes and all sports, such as compression sleeves, shorts, t-shirts, socks and accessories.

In 1999, BV SPORT introduced a major innovation in its socks by adding a rigid mesh in the calf area, creating the BOOSTER effect to improve blood circulation. In the 2000s, BV SPORT continued to innovate by creating the BOOSTER compression sleeve, which allows athletes to improve their performance and reduce the risk of injury. This sleeve is combined with the PRORECUP recovery sock to provide a natural recovery aid. Since its creation, the BOOSTER compression sleeve has sold more than one million units and has become a must-have item in endurance sports.

In 2008, BV SPORT created a production unit in Saint-Etienne to intensify research and development work on the technical construction of the mesh. Two theses were carried out to identify the mechanical properties of the conductive tissues of the calf and to study the biomechanics of the soft tissues of the human leg under elastic compression. This work allowed us to understand that the pressures transmitted to the lower limbs vary according to the type and thickness of the living biological tissues that compose them.

With this information, BV SPORT developed compression ranges with variable stiffness meshes and introduced Selective Compression, strategically targeting compression to the necessary areas according to the behavior and reaction of living biological tissue. This innovation respects the anatomy and physiology of sportsmen and women, optimizes muscular biomechanics in movement, improves venous return, reduces the risk of muscle soreness, limits vibrations and parasitic oscillations, and lowers the fatigue threshold. BV SPORT has moved from the progressive compression of the 90s to selective compression, which is modern and twice as effective thanks to these significant innovations.

All its products, such as the compression and support ranges, socks and Booster sleeves, are manufactured in France in its production unit located in St-Etienne, and meet strict specifications to guarantee high quality.
