MAINTENANCE OF SKI BINDINGS
The first step is simple. You just need to clean your bindings with clear water, which will remove any residual dust. To go further, you can also alpine and freeride ski bindings to equip your new ski models.
Then, it's up to you to make your choice. Indeed, on the continuation of the maintenance process of the ski bindings, opinions differ. Some professionals claim that it is important to loosen the springs to allow them to have a longer lifespan. To loosen the bindings, be sure to note somewhere the current setting, then unscrew the binding to the lowest number on the heel piece and the toe piece. However, some brands advise against loosening the bindings. So it's up to you to make your choice.
MAINTENANCE OF SKI BOOTS
To keep it simple, you will need to follow 3 key steps:
- Dry the liners regularly and completely before storing them away
- Deodorize the inside of the boot
- Protect the boots from moisture
To dry the inside of the liner, there is no secret, you have to be patient and let it dry for a few days. To speed up the process and ensure that the liner will be completely dry, you can take it out of its shell. If you have specific needs, also consider buying climbing and après-ski boots from our store.
Next, to dry the shells and buckles of the boots, you can simply use a dry cloth. This will prevent any rust formation on the buckles.
An important detail that many think is trivial: remember to close the buckles to avoid deforming the boot shell. Also, you can check that your boot heel pieces are not too worn or broken.
Before permanently storing your boots, remember to reinsert the liner into the shell once it is dry.
Finally, put your boots in your bag and store them in a dry place.
AFTER MAINTENANCE
Now that your skis and your boots have regained a new youth, it is time to let them rest until the next season. For the next steps, if you want a complete set, don't forget that you can choose your complete all mountain ski pack from our catalog.
To do this, store your skis in the ski bag and then place them in a dry and temperate place. Indeed, temperature fluctuations can damage the equipment in the long term. It is therefore preferable to avoid a damp cellar or garage.
Of course, if any rust appears when you take out your skis next season, don't panic, it can happen and will disappear during your first runs.
TIP
For ski storage, it is recommended to leave a layer of wax to protect the base and better prepare it for the next season.
