A LITTLE HISTORY

Edelrid (EDEL+RID) was founded in 1863 and bears the names of its founders, Julius Edelmann and Carl Ridder.
In the beginning, the brand specialized in the manufacture of climbing ropes. In the 1950s, the brand set itself apart from its competitors and revolutionized the climbing world with the invention of the braided rope , which led to great success.
In the 1960s,Edelrid designed a rope that could withstand several falls. This rope is the forerunner of today's modern, dynamic climbing rope.
Elderid was also the first in the world to introduce ropes that met the strict Bluesign standards.
Edelrid perfectly combines innovation and ecological responsibility, which allows it to be as close as possible to today's environmental challenges.

The Carabiners

With the launch of the HMS BULLETPROOF ECO, EDELRID is introducing its very first non-anodized carabiner. Reduced to the essentials, it offers an environmentally friendly alternative to a standard anodized carabiner. The elegant industrial look is a fantastic side effect.

But there's more to these carabiners than the anodizing process and the missing chemicals. The proven steel insert at the top of our BULLETPROOF carabiners reduces wear and tear on the carabiner and the rope. And since almost all products come with packaging, we have also addressed this part and made it climate neutral.

Ropes

In rope production, quality and safety are the fundamental principles behind the responsible and innovative production of high-performance products. This has been EDELRID's philosophy for over 150 years.

All materials used in the production of our strings are bluesign® approved. Therefore, we can guarantee that we use as few pollutants as possible without compromising on functionality, quality and design. Our strings carry the bluesign® label thanks to the combination of certified materials and our certified string production facilities in Isny, Germany.

The bluesign® label is a sign of quality. It guarantees an ecologically produced product, low in pollutants and safe for health and the environment. In this way, we fully meet consumer demands for safe, environmentally friendly and sustainable products.

In each Parrot there are 4.2 km of wire waste from their own production.

These yarn residues are transformed into high quality ropes

as part of our upcycling program. The randomness of the residues makes each string an absolute unique model. Made in germany
