# A BIT OF HISTORY

Bearing the names of its creators, Julius Edelmann and Carl Ridder, Edelrid (EDEL+RID) was created in 1863.
The brand was, at its beginnings, specialized in the manufacture of climbing ropes. The brand stands out from its competitors and revolutionizes the world of climbing in the 1950s with the invention of the braided rope, which resulted in a great success.
Edelrid continuously improves its materials and production techniques. In the 1960s, Edelrid designed a rope that could withstand multiple falls. This rope is the precursor to the modern, dynamic climbing rope.
Edelrid is also the first in the world to have launched ropes meeting the strict Bluesign standards.
Edelrid perfectly combines innovation and ecological responsibility, allowing it to be closely aligned with current environmental issues. Discover the full range of climbing ropes from the brand for safe and environmentally friendly practice.

#The carabiners

By launching the HMS BULLETPROOF ECO, EDELRID brings to market its very first non-anodized carabiner. Reduced to the essentials, it offers an ecological alternative to a standard anodized carabiner. The elegant industrial look is a fantastic side effect.

But these carabiners are not limited to the anodization process and the missing chemicals. The steel insert tested at the top of our BULLETPROOF carabiners reduces wear on the carabiner and the rope. And since almost all products are delivered with packaging, we have also addressed this part and made it climate-neutral.

#The ropes

In terms of rope production, quality and safety are the fundamental principles that underpin the responsible and innovative realization of high-performance products. This has been EDELRID's philosophy for over 150 years.

All materials used for the manufacture of ropes are approved by bluesign®. Therefore, Edelrid can guarantee that they use the least possible pollutants without compromising functionality, quality, and design. The ropes carry the bluesign® label thanks to the combination of certified materials and rope production facilities in Isny, Germany.

The bluesign® label is a sign of quality. It guarantees a product made in an environmentally friendly manner, low in pollutants, and safe for health and the environment. In this way, we fully meet consumer demands for safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable products.

In each Parrot are hidden 4.2 km of thread residues from their own production.

These thread residues are transformed into high-quality ropes as part of our upcycling program. The random nature of the residues makes each rope an absolutely unique model. Made in Germany
