The mountaineering helmet hood has a laminated visor and is easily adjusted in one easy step. This model also has ventilation zips under the arms, water-repellent zips and three secure pockets for your valuables (one outside chest pocket on the left side and two handwarmer pockets). Fair Trade Certified™ fabrication.
GORE-TEX Paclite® Plus 2.5-layer, 75-denier, 115 gsm, 100% recycled polyester plaincloth outer fabric with waffle lining and durable water-repellent (DWR) finish.
Fair Trade Certified™ fabrication.
The jacket is Fair Trade certified. This is for Patagonia, the first step towards fairer remuneration for its partners in the supply chain. This label offers workers in the textile industry benefits and a decent wage, which is not necessarily the case in this industry.
The jacket is also made from recycled polyester, reducing Patagonia's reliance on petroleum-based materials. This also eliminates waste and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.
Patagonia strives to make progress, today's seasonal gear is made of 80% recycled polyester. The brand is constantly looking for new potentially recyclable materials to further strengthen their commitment.
The jacket is made with a fluorinated DWR finish, which allows the waterproof jacket to wick away moisture. It's a durable water repellent (DWR) that prevents clothing from becoming waterlogged. DWR is a functional chemical coating containing PFCs (perfluorocarbons), which have long been used by the outdoor industry to make water-resistant clothing. But they are non-biodegradable chemicals that are harmful to the environment. PFCs are extremely effective at repelling water, but because of their impact, Patagonia is working to eliminate them entirely from the clothing the brand produces. Patagonia is working on this primer to be PFC-free by fall 2022.
