Inov8 is an English brand, born in the excessively slippery and wet hills of the Lake District in Great Britain. The first requirement of the founder Wayne Edy was to give a maximum grip to the sole, with a light and very flexible shoe. The X-Talon range was thus born with 8mm lugs with a very aggressive profile, designed to face extreme conditions (see X-Talon G210). But the range has grown over the years, with models designed for short, long, with more or less reinforcement and cushioning, while keeping as a common thread, the natural stride and grip. Since 2018, Inov8 has introduced Graphene material in its outsoles and more recently in its midsoles demonstrating that a soft rubber, therefore gripping can prove very resistant to wear, especially abrasion. Graphene, derived from graphite, thus makes it possible to solve the equation of softness/grip/lightness/durability. Graphene is a substance derived from Graphite, a mineral mined in the Lake District, a stone's throw from the Inov8 brand's headquarters. Graphene, mixed with the rubber of the sole, gives it, without excess material, extreme elasticity, softness and great strength. Graphite is 200 times stronger than steel. The result is a flexible, thin sole with very strong grip on all types of terrain - whether very dry and abrasive or greasy and slippery - and which resists very well to the wear and tear of miles.
