Inov8 is an English brand, born in the excessively slippery and wet hills of the Lake District in Great Britain. The founder Wayne Edy's first requirement was to provide maximum grip to the sole, with a lightweight and very flexible shoe. The X-Talon range was thus born with 8mm lugs with a very aggressive profile, designed to face extreme conditions (see X-Talon G210). But the range has expanded over the years, with models designed for short and long distances, with varying degrees of reinforcements and cushioning, while maintaining a focus on natural stride and grip. Since 2018, Inov8 has introduced Graphene material into its outsoles and more recently into its midsoles, demonstrating that a soft, thus grippy rubber can be very resistant to wear, especially abrasion. Graphene, derived from graphite, thus solves the equation of softness/grip/lightweight/durability. Inov8 is a complete Trail Running brand offering high-quality textile and equipment lines.

Graphene is a substance derived from Graphite, a mineral extracted in the Lake District region, just steps from the brand's headquarters Inov8. Graphene, mixed with the rubber of the sole, gives it, without excess material, extreme elasticity, softness, and great strength. Graphite is 200 times stronger than steel. The result is a flexible, thin sole with very strong grip on all types of terrains - whether very dry and abrasive or wet and slippery - and which resists wear from miles very well.

User reviews

How to choose the right size?

Measure your foot at the end of the day. Allow 5 to 10 mm of space in front of the toes. Consider the type of sock used. If you hesitate between two sizes, opt for the larger size for ultra. For competition, a more fitted cut may be suitable.

What are the best shoes for trail?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. For technical terrains, prioritize protection and grip. For speed, choose lightweight and low drop. For long distances, cushioning and support are essential. Evaluate your practice and terrain to decide.
