As a passionate mountain sports enthusiast, it is crucial to ensure that your equipment is in perfect condition, and this includes safety devices like Avalanche Victim Detectors (DVA). At AlpinStore, we understand the importance of safety in the mountains, which is why we have established a meticulous DVA revision process to guarantee the reliability of your equipment.
Why is DVA Revision Crucial?
DVAs are vital tools in alpine sports. In the event of an avalanche, these devices can make the difference between life and death. However, like any electronic equipment, they require regular maintenance to ensure proper functioning. DVA revision ensures that all components are in perfect working order, maximizing their performance when they are truly needed.
Which DVAs are Eligible for Revision?
For the winter season 2023/2024, we offer complete revision of DVAs from the brand MAMMUT (Barryvox, Barryvox S, Element, Pulse) and from the brand ARVA (Evo3+, Evo4, Evo5, AXIO, Pro W, Neo, Neo+, NEO PRO).
The Revision Process at AlpinStore
· For a MAMMUT DVA
The Swiss brand recommends submitting its devices for revision every 3 years or after 3000 hours of use.
1. Collection of MAMMUT DVAs
When you choose to have your Mammut DVA revised, the first step is to send us your equipment. We have set up a simple and efficient system to facilitate this step. 2. Complete Inspection, Function Tests & Software Updates
Once we receive your DVA, our team of experts conducts a thorough initial inspection in our workshops according to a defined and strict process provided by the brand. This includes a visual examination of the exterior, as well as an assessment of the internal components according to a precise protocol using a specific and official MAMMUT tester.
Each DVA undergoes a series of rigorous function tests. We ensure that all functions, such as search and transmission, are operational. Range tests are also conducted to ensure that your DVA can be effectively detected in real situations.
DVAs are equipped with integrated software to constantly improve their performance. During the revision process, we ensure that your DVA benefits from the latest available software updates, thus ensuring optimal compatibility with other equipment and maximum responsiveness.
3. Return to Owner
Once your DVA has successfully passed all tests and verifications, we will return it to your address securely. You will also receive a detailed revision report informing you of the work done and the general condition of your device.
It is important to note that in the event of a serious failure detected during any of these checks, we will send your device to Germany to Mammut for the necessary repairs.

· For an ARVA DVA
ARVA Equipment recommends submitting its devices for revision according to the following frequencies:
- For standard use (< 60 days/year): every 3 years.
- For intensive/professional use (> 60 days/year): annually, and at least every 2 years.
1. Collection of ARVA DVAs
Similarly to MAMMUT DVAs, you just need to send us the well-packaged DVA with the tracking number to secure transport, after placing an order via the link https://www.alpinstore.com/en/578119-dva-revision-arva---evo-4---evo-5---neo-pro-bt.html

2. Complete Inspection, Function Tests & Software Updates
Once we receive your DVA, your device is sent to the manufacturer ARVA for complete revision.
The revision procedure includes fifteen control points, including frequency, transmission, and reception tests, verification of buttons, screen, battery contacts, as well as the possibility of updating the device if necessary. In the event of a system failure, such as a transmission or reception defect of the ARVA, the device will be unusable and will not be returned to its owner.
Instead, a commercial offer will be presented to the customer, proposing the purchase of a new and functional device.
3. Return to Owner
As with MAMMUT, if your DVA has successfully passed all tests and verifications, it will be sent to your address securely. You will also receive a detailed revision report informing you of the work done and the general condition of your device.
At AlpinStore, the safety of our customers is our priority. The regular revision of MAMMUT and ARVA DVAs is an integral part of our commitment to safety in the mountains. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information about the revision process or to schedule the sending of your equipment.
